Zofia is charmed with nature. In the ghetto they seldom saw plants or trees. The children couldn't imagine what a forest looked like. Once a child asked Zofia what a cow looked like. Almost all the animals had been eaten. The only animals to be seen were horses.
Zofia is really happy that she can be so close to nature.
