  • Zofia comes home to a very nervous Aunt Aniela. She blurts out that a policeman was there and said that there are two persons by the name Zofia Sielczak and that one or both must be Jewish. Zofia calms Aunt Aniela down, saying that it's funny and ridiculous. Zofia tells Aunt Aniela that she must go out for a while, but she will be back soon-"See you soon Aunt Aniela". Zofia never saw her again. She is obsessed with the thought that she is the only person to remember Aunt Aniela.
