  • Jakub, no title. The description of war experience begins with the Polish-German War of 1939 (the escape from Warsaw and the return). The author moved from the ghetto to the "Aryan side" and stayed at Julia Rogowinska's place in Praga, engaged in the trade. Since 16 May 1943 he hid and avoided leaving the flat (a few times he left Warsaw to smuggle). The part of the diary describing years from 1943 to 1944 contains information mainly about the war activity taken from the newspapers and the rumours (e.g. information about Polish underground organisations), occasional poems and the information about Julia's family. The diary does not give full information when describing the situation in Warsaw at the end of July 1944. The author under the unknown name was a book keeper and died in the Warsaw Uprising. Julia Rogowinska passed the diary to ZIH (Jewish Historical Institute).
