  • Jakub, no title. The description of the author's war experiences begins with the Polish-German War of 1939 (he escaped from Warsaw and returned). The author moved from the ghetto to the so-called "Aryan side," moved in with Julia Rogowinska, who lived in Praga, busied himself with trade. Since 16 May 1943 was in hiding and avoided leaving the flat (a couple of times left Warsaw in order to smuggle some things). The part of the diary which describes 1943 and 1944 consists mainly of information about warfare taken from newspapers, rumours (e.g. about Polish underground organisations), occasional rhymes and information about Julia's family. The diary ends in mid word at the description of the situation in Warsaw at the end of July 1944. The author, whose surname is unknown, was a bookkeeper, died in the Warsaw Uprising. Julia Rogowinska gave the diary to the Jewish Historical Institute.
