In autumn 1939, she moved with her family to Warsaw, but in the early spring of 1941 she returned to Nowy Dwor. She lived in the ghetto there, so-called 'Piaski.' She worked in Modlin, with timber. In June 1941, she moved to Legionowo; later to Warsaw, to her brother - Dawid. He parents, grandparents, sister and brother Zygmunt went to the camp in Pomiechowek. Her mother and Zygmunt arrived in the Warsaw ghetto in September 1941. Pnina and her two brothers worked in Landau's shop in Gesia Street. In December 1942, Pnina's 'five' was created in Landau's factory. After the January Action, the combat groups were barracked - Pnina was a member of Berlinski combat group, she lived at Swietojerska Street No. 34. She fought in the uprising, left the ghetto through the sewers on 10 May. She was conveyed to a forest in Lomianki. She was in the partisan unit in Wyszkow forests till the end of July 1944. She returned to Warsaw; together with three fighters, she hid in the flat at Rakowiecka Street No. 24. When the Warsaw Uprising broke out, the landlady told them to leave the flat; by accident, they landed in a group of Poles escorted to Gestapo. Pnina managed to cross to the insurgents' side, but they accused her of being a spy. She was imprisoned, interrogated; fortunately, an officer who knew her brother's name believed her. She was released, but ordered to live with a Jewish family and was controlled. She spent the rest of the uprising there, met her commander from the forest; thanks to him, she got a uniform and became a messenger in the People's Army (AL). After the uprising, she hid with several fighters until the liberation. In March 1945, she left Poland; after half a year in Romania, she reached Palestine.
