He slept in a 'Gigant' poorhouse in Jagiellonska Street. He went around yards with a group of players who were war-disabled. After some time people started to suspect that he was Jewish. Kuba escaped from Warsaw and worked as a farmhand for a peasant near Zambrow. He survived the war and lives in Israel.
