  • This testimony consists of three parts. The first one is Tadeusz Buza's testimony written and verified in the Jewish Historical Institute in 1965 by Tatiana Bernstein - the then manager of the Jewish Historical Institute Archives. All 5 pages are marked with the letter 'Z', which stands for 'zeznanie' (testimony). The second part is Leon Schachter's statement (the first page is marked with 'O', which stands for 'oswiadczenie' (a statement)). The third part is Buza's testimony written down by doctor Ruta Sakowska on 20 December 1975 - three pages marked with letter 'R' which stands for relacja' (testimony). The testimony features descriptions of: the tram transit through the ghetto; 'tram' food smuggling; the author's induction into the Wehrmacht auxiliary forces as a driver of a Red Cross ambulance; illegal transport of Jews from the Eastern territories into the Warsaw Ghetto; the author's provision of shelter to Leon Schachter (after the latter had escaped from the Lvov ghetto).
