Franc finds Wanda for David. They meet in the old courthouse. Wanda brings some packages with food for David and his family, she wants to know how everybody is doing. They exchange some news about the war and part. They can't see each other long because the danger is too great. Sophie sees a doctor. He tells her that her nerves are overstrained and she needs to rest. He suggests hiring a housekeeper. David wonders how to earn some extra money, but promises to look for a housekeeper right away.
