David has to find a way of earning money. After eight months in prison, he has to take care of his family and make it possible for them to survive in the ghetto. David leaves the ghetto in order to find Miss Demske. Thanks to her and Mr. Eisner, he gets a job at the office of the Area Supervisor for the Jewish Trustee - Mr. Schmitz.
