    The chairman of the Judenrat in Lodz. He was called 'Chaim the first'. He instilled the Jews in Lodz that he is the only person they can believe in; he created a new currency, the 'chaims', new public holidays on the day of his and his wife's birthdays. He created a system of total obedience and control.
