    A famous lawyer, a social activist; head of the Housing Department of the Judenrat.

    A lawyer. At the beginning of the war he went to Lvov, met a young widow there and got married. She had an 11-year-old son, Oles. Soon they returned together to the Warsaw ghetto. Bauemberg got a job in the Housing Office. During the First Action he lived with his family, his wife's parents, two sisters and brother in Chlodna Street. On 10-11 August he was taken with the whole family to the Umschlagplatz during a street blockade. At the Umschlag he was wangled out and could save himself, but he did not want to leave his wife, and finally he joined her.

    A member of the Legal Commission of the Judenrat- he dealt with cases concerning philanthropy. An employee of the Housing Office, deported in 1942. He commited suicide by swallowing a potassium cyanide pill.
