  • She got married in 1936 or 1937. Together with her husband, she run the workshop producing slippers. They lived at Nowolipki Street No. 57 (the same address as the workshop). During the First Action she hid with her son at Sochaczewska Street No. 10, in a factory. She lived in the shop's block - Leszno Street No. 76. During the selection in the shop she was sent to the Umschlagplatz with her husband and little son. They managed to leave on 6 September 1942. During the round-up she hid with her son in the flat of Ursus employees at Mila Street No. 40. She joined her husband in the shop again ca. 15 September. On 2 September she left the ghetto (the child was transferred the day before). She hid with the child in Nowa Wies, near Wolomin, for 5 weeks, as Marcjanna Piechocka. Next, she was hidden in Warsaw by the Michalski family, during the Warsaw ghetto uprising - with her husband in a flat in Krochmalna Street (for 7 weeks), then, she stayed with her husband in Michalski's workshop in Belwederska Street. After the breakout of the Warsaw uprising, she left Warsaw, parted with her husband and after staying in transit camp in Pruszkow, she went to village Jankowo near Opoczno. She found her husband in Grodzisk. Being harassed by Gestapo agents, they moved to Milanowek. They smuggled sugar from Piaseczno to Milanowek. They were caught by Gestapo agents in January 1945 and handed over to a withdrawing German outpost. They were handed over to Polish military police, with the order to shot them - released by Poles. When they were going from the hideout near Wolomin to Warsaw, she left her son in zaklad dla sierot im. ks. Boduena (the Orphan's Home of priest Boduen). They collected the child on 13 March 1945, when it was about 3 years old. Their younger son was born on 21 April 1945.

One of her sisters was shot with her husband and little son in Poniatow in 1943. Her second sister hid with the Schmidt family until September 1942. She lost her senses after she was taken to the Umschlagplatz. The third sister crossed to the 'Aryan side' and disappeared without trace. Leokadia's fourth sister also disappeared. Leaokadia's father was run over by Germans on the corner of Nalewki/Gesia Streets in 1940.
