Later, he became the deputy of the chief police officer in Lublin, he was converted, changed his name and became an anti-Semite. He joined the Camp of National Unity (Ozon), but even this didn't prevent him from losing his job after the outbreak of the war. During the German occupation he was imprisoned for several months and he fell into financial problems. Thanks to the help of his friends, especially the Czapinski family, he got to the hideout. In this period, he becomes closer with Lubliner, whom he knew earlier, from Mala Ziemianska. It was Lubliner who proposed him to Czerniakow as the Superintendent of the Order Service. There was an attempt on his life in September 1942. He committed suicide by swallowing cyanide.
