The Szerman family hid in the middle of May 1943 with a group of 20 people on the fourth floor at Swietojerska Streeet No. 36. The hideout was discovered by the Germans - Szerman survived; his wife and son were taken by the Germans, they survived the execution and heavily wounded returned to the hideout at night. Mrs Szerman died, her son survived. Fourteen-year-old daughter escaped, but the Germans shot her. They also took Szerman's distant relatives and shot.
