He fought in the Warsaw ghetto uprising; he was in Szymek Kac's shelter in Swietojerska Street No. 36; on 8 May, the Germans discovered the shelter - Lopata, Zemsz and Najberg escaped shooting and hid on the third floor of a burnt house at Swietojerska Street No. 34; at the beginning of June 1943, Lopata and Zachraisz went to Mylna Street to establish a contact with the 'Aryan' district and died there.
