the author's sister; at the end of 1939 she went with her sister, Halina, to the East to look around, but soon they came back to Warsaw. In 1942 they went for a few weeks to a town near Ostrowia, from where they sent their family in the ghetto parcels with food. A few days in 1942 she spent on the 'Aryan side' but she came back to the ghetto; died deported during the uprising.
