Pisuje do gazetki Domu felietony - jak przed wojną, poświęcone codzienności Domu, wyborom moralnym, wartościom. Walczy z urzędnikami, prowadzi obfitą korespondencję. Zdobywa dla sierot, co może. Jednocześnie z tonu i sformułowań jego wypowiedzi widać, że nerwy ma zszarpane: nie szczędzi obraźliwych epitetów ogólnie szanowanym osobom nie tylko w "Pamiętniku", ale i w korespondencji urzędowej. W 1942 r. był zatrudniony w Głównym Domu Schronienia przy Dzielnej 39 na warunkach takich jak w Domu Sierot: za wikt. Robił wszystko, aby G.D.S. przestał być "umieralnią", "rzeźnią dzieci", aby uczył i wychowywał.

In conversation with Luba Blum-Bielicka, vice-director of the Nursing School, he assured her that: 'He arranged for his children a special car.'
