    As a foreign citizen she was detained at Pawiak on 17 July 1942. Her mother stayed in the ghetto and often sent her parcels to the prison. Guta's close friend, Mr. Z. (Seidman), a Judenrat clerk, enclosed letters with the parcels, thanks to which the Pawiak prisoners knew about the events in the ghetto. In October 1942 Guta's mother joined the internees.
