  • Została otwarta nowa kawiarnia kierowana przez Tatianę Epstein. Kelnerkami są panie z najlepszego towarzystwa. W kawiarni występuje Władysław Szpilman. Kawiarnia ogłosiła konkurs młodych talentów. Nagrodą jest tygodniowy kontrakt na występy z dobrą gażą. W ciągu trzech dni trwania konkursu sala była wypełniona po brzegi. Jury (Władysław Szpilman, Helena Ostrowska, Stefan Pomper, żona architekta Bela Gelbard, Tatiana Epstein) przyznało nagrody Stanisławie Rapel (taniec), Mary Berg (piosenki jazzowe), sześcioletniemu uczniowi Szpilmana (gra na fortepianie).
