  • Rembertow, a flat on the floor, a room in the attic
  • The flat was situated on the floor, it consisted of a room and a small room in the attic, where stood a bucket for physiological needs. Helena Rufeisen-Schuepper and Sara Biedermann (so called 'Krysia' ) hid there in the second half of May 1943. All day they sat motionless, in order to avoid the neighbours' suspicion. Only in the evening when Olek (the owner) came, they could move, talk, or cook something. In the room there was one bed and an underwear basket. They took turns and slept in the bed or in the basket. To entertain themselves they played 'intelligence' (inteligencja). 'Every day felt like eternity'. After some time Szoszana Langer, who was brough by 'Kazik' (Szymcha Rotem), joined them.
