One of the heads of the Labour Battalion, (private address: Mila Street No. 45, flat 13), Czerniakow despised him. 4 March 1940 - after dinner sent by Mende, Rinde (a messenger) wanted me to give Halber 2 out of 5 rooms, which belonged to another Jew. 6 March 1940 - I will give Halber a loan but not a flat. 18 March 1940 - Halber informed the social administration of the Battalion about some irregularities.
10 May 1940 - A Jewish worker terrorised a cashier of the Labour Battalion. I ordered Halber to inform the SS about it. 15 May 1940 - Halber should be taken to the Council. Mende insists on it. 19 May 1940 - news in the Judenrat that Goldfeil and Halber were summoned to Szopen Street yesterday. The former received 20 whips and the latter 10. Our worker administered the whipping. Tomorrow I am going to file a complaint.
2 June 1940 - Halber's intrigue. 5 June 1940 - Halber, a viper in the Battalion, stirs up the workers and their employers against the worker's Council. He disappears for entire days and nights because he walks around and makes secret plans. I must put and end to this. 15 June 1940 - Yesterday Halber and his comrades lashed with a whip a Jew who was sent here to work. Today I sent for Halber and suspended him. Before that Za[bludowski] had asked the authorities about their attitude towards Halber. Halber was sent for and had to report to the Judenrat.
