    Came from a poor family, his father was a barber. Kawa graduated from a business school, before the war worked in the business department of a pharmacy. In the ghetto was active in underground Communist trade unions. Took part in actions whose aim was to impose involuntary taxes on the rich and give the money to the underground organisation. During the Uprising he was the commander of one of six combat groups in the area of Toebbens' shop at Leszno Street No. 74. Badly wounded in combat, died in a shelter in Nowolipie Street.
