  • Za namową Berlanda ok 40 osób, w tym cała jego rodzina, przenosi się, korzystając z nieuwagi Ukraińców, do sali gdzie jest o wiele lepiej. Wyjaśnia się, dlaczego ludzie tam zgromadzeni są w tak dobrym stanie, co zaskoczyło Berlanda. Okazuje się że nie są oni z getta. Byli dotychczas zatrudnieni w szopach Szulca, warsztaty ich mieściły się przy Nowolipiu, a więc poza granicami getta. U nich akcja rozpoczęła się później- tam dopiero zaczynają palić się domy, a tu już prawie całe getto spłonęło. W schronie wytrzymali dwa dni, potem poddali się. Rewidowani byli pobieżnie. Na Umschlag czekają już drugi dzień na wyjazd. Są niezadowoleni z przybycia nowych, ale wszyscy dochodzą w końcu do porozumienia, opowiadają o swoich przejściach.
