  • An art antiquary from Lodz. He spent September 1939 in Warsaw. Since 13 October 1939 in Lodz. Hid a couple of Matejko's paintings. Escaped east. Worked as a curator in a museum in Ukraine. On 16 April 1940 returned to Warsaw, where his family was. Since 1941 worked as a caretaker of the house where they lived (Sienna 41). Since 17 December 1941 he was the caretaker of the house at Chlodna Street No. 10. Since 17 July 1942 interned at Pawiak with his family. Being an American citizen's husband he was on the list of people who were to be exchanged for German prisoners of war. On 23 October 1942 left Pawiak together with other men who were American citizens. Stayed in an internment camp for interned Americans in Titmoning, 12 miles from Laufen. He wrote letter from the camp to his wife and daughters, who were still at Pawiak. In August 1943 came to the camp in Vittel, where he met his wife and daughters. On 1 March 1944 they all left Vittel. On 15 March 1944 they arrived in America on board the 'Gripsholm'.
