  • One of the Jewish Fighting Organisation (ZOB) commanders. He was in charge of the combat group which fought in the first skirmishes during the Second Action. During the uprising, he was commander of eight groups in the Central Ghetto - in Nalewki, Mila, Gesia and Zamenhofa Streets. His group fought at Leszno Street No. 76. On 29 April 1943, he led about 40 fighters to the 'Aryan side.' He hid, among other places, in the celluloid factory in Praga. In November 1943, the hideout, full of explosives, burst into flames; he was the only fighter out of six that managed to escape and survive. Wladka met him again in summer 1943 in the notorious Hotel Polski.
