  • Finished the Craft Training School, worked as a turner-metalworker. In the ghetto, he lived with his wife and two sons (one-year old and two-years old) in Dzielna Street. He worked as a turner in the factory producing farming machines in Leszno Street. During the First Action, his wife and little children were deported. He worked on 'Avia' work detail, lived in its block at Mila Street No. 32. In autumn 1942, he joined a group co-working with the Polish Workers' Party (PPR), prepared himself to join a partisan unit. On 18 January 1943, he started to work in a new work detail in Bielany, so during the January Action he was on the 'Aryan side'. His sister and her child were deported. Dawid moved with his brother-in-law to the flat in Zamenhofa Street, they went together to the work detail in the Gdanski Station (Dworzec Gdanski). In March 1943, they were deported, jumped off the train, returned to Warsaw. Before the outbreak of the uprising, he barracked in Gdanski Station (Dworzec Gdanski), he was not in the ghetto during the uprising. In July 1943, he went to the camp in Gesia Street, worked in Obozna Street in German garages. On 5 August 1944, the insurgents libereted the camp. Fogelman joined the Home Army (Armia Krajowa), worked in auxiliary labours. During the uprising, he hid with three Jews in the hideout in ruins. He wrote his diary there. They survived to the liberation.
