He mediated in business between the Schmidts and Jozefa Hebda, who had a shop at Marszalkowska Street No. 77. He also smuggled goods across the walls. In the first days of October 1942 he helped Leokadia Schmidt to cross to the 'Aryan side' and also hid her with child in his house. In mid-October he also helped Leokadia's husband to cross to the 'Aryan side' and next he hid both of them in his house and in a bodywork garage in Belwederska Street (the garage belonged to Henryk's father - Antoni). Together with Schmidt he ran a women's shoes workshop. He helped the Schmidts until the end. He had a wife and four children.
