  • M.
  • a former newspaper editor. He was hiding on the 'Aryan side' at captain Cz.P.'s widow's place with two sons of 10-15 years old, in a three-room flat on the ground floor in Zoliborz. His elder son reportedly worked for the underground, bringing newspapers. The hostess threatened M. with an intrusion of the Germans, [so] he ran away through the window. He found out that the woman had lied to him, as she was hoping that he would leave his money in the rush. Yet, before the escape, M. took his belt in which he kept his gold coins. He came back to the ghetto - in late autumn or winter 1942 - he visited his acquaintance, Bryskier and told him the story.
